An original oil by Adolphe-Félix Cals (1810–1880), a French painter and a minor master, but a meaningful one. He was part of the Saint-Simeon circle alongside Boudin and Jongkind. He embraced the Impressionist movement and exhibited alongside the Impressionists between 1874 and 1879, favoring a luminous palette, an emphasis on landscape, and scenes of everyday life.
